洛奇是管弦乐团的三角敲击手。在结婚一周年的纪念日，他太太离家出走。好朋友查理及其同居女友妙芬决定为洛奇介绍女朋友，以弥补其空虚的心灵。在一次交通意外，妙芬受伤留医。查理为公干远游，妙芬对他重利轻离的行为十分不满，反而洛奇悉心呵护，使两人友情变成爱情……。该剧根据德国同名喜剧改编，讲述主角Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead 会在警方完成调查工作后清理现场。当他解决了令人毛骨耸然的现场后，善于交际的他与受害人的亲戚、雇主、邻居、熟人甚至凶手本人有所交集，所以对主角来说，这工作有时是听八卦多于清理。。New DCI John Barnaby arrives in Midsomer and is bemused by the quaint villages and their quirky residents.
