This intimate film follows Yuguo’s own teenage roman...。The film describes the events leading up to, and including, the massacre of the adults of a small town in Nebraska by their children, after the adults' irresponsibility ruins the crop and the children's future.。故事梗概易杰、暮珍与阿威合资开了一个"老知青粥粉铺"，顾客络绎不绝，生意很兴隆。但易杰一直安不下心来，海南岛那片橡胶林，时时搅动他的心。于是，他利用业余时间，将自己在海南的经历写成小说。校庆那天，易杰将已写好的章节带给麦老师征求意见，麦老师认为作品的调子有些低沉。麦老师的女儿小汀从文稿中看出易杰心中的矛盾，指出易杰过去的生活中有许多不快，但又不能完全否定自己的过去。她带易杰去参加"诗歌朗诵会"。会上，易杰过去的同班同学丽荣朗诵了易杰中学时的一篇作文《南方的岸》，引起了小汀的共鸣，也唤起了易杰新的思考。小铺子里的顾客南来北往，时时传递着新生活的信息。海南橡胶连的老连长路过这里，讲了农场的发展规划、人们的生活变化以及当年易杰他们救活的"希望一号"橡胶树的生产状况。老连长匆匆而来，又匆匆而去。短短的几句话，在这几个曾经生活战斗的海南的老知青心中引起了波澜...。
